I know, this is so me. The first thing I did was to find a place to eat. We went to a lunch/dinner place called ‘Rockafellas”. It was alright, we spent most of our time in Salem waiting for our food to come, but when it did it was worth it.
As you can see it was a nice atmosphere inside, just as the sign had promised.I went there with these two girls, Summer and Tiana. This is what I had, a veggie sandwich. So good! We went to some museums as well that our school had payed for, but honestly nothing grand and worth mentioning. Thats what I looked like in Salem. I just had to take a selfie inside of the store we went to, I took so many photos in there. Like, photos of things. Not selfies. Just to clarify guys..
And hey dad, that’s the raincoat we bought when I was home! Didn’t think I’d be wearing it, did you? (;They were selling all kinds of things in there, some scarier than others. They even had a small altar where you could write notes to someone that you had lost. Which a lot of people had done. As I said before, some things were pretty terrifying. Something that I thought was funny was that Summer got a psychic reading in the same store.
I think the store was called “Hex- Old world witchery”. If you’d ever would happen to be in the neighbourhood.
This was the lady who gave her the reading. Her name was Nyx Valentine. The knight was representing a boy in her life and every card had a meaning. Summer. Summer’s notebook and her cards in front of her. Later on the lady was talking to Summer’s Grandpa, who had passed away 4 years ago. After that we strolled around in the city. Salem is really cute. We were quite touristy. We passed the cemetery as well. Look at the stones, look at how old they are. It was spring there as well. Our school had arranged so that we could watch a small play about the witch trials in the town hall. It was pretty intense.
So in overall Salem was very touristy and tacky. I guess it was a fun change from our normal, everyday, life in Boston. Besides, that must have been the first day we were our since the bombings, so thank God for that.
